Atrium Hospitality is seeking a dynamic Sales and Use Tax Analyst is to provide accounting support to properties/company through administering sales and use taxes with a focus on the production of timely and accurate returns.

The Sales and Use Tax Analyst will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments:

  • Negotiate and agree on tax percentages for assigned properties within city, county and/or state jurisdictions;
  • Lead the preparation, filing and payment of sales, use, occupancy and local taxes for managed hotels;
  • Reconcil e of general ledger detail to billing detail ;
  • Research, review and resolv e state and local jurisdiction tax notices including prepar ing letters of understanding and memorandum detailing actions taken ;
  • Respond to internal and external tax questions regarding taxability of the c ompany's products and services, tax exemptions, etc. ;
  • Manag e tax assignments and related projects including voluntary disclosures, refund overpayment reviews, sales and use tax process reviews, taxability analysis and audit defense assistance ;
  • Train property accounting teams on set up of tax in point of sales and property management systems;
  • Apply internal control concepts with tax accruals and identif ying exposures resulting from ineffective or missing control practices.
  • R esearch and resolv e complex sales tax issues ;
  • Participat e in sales and use tax audit ;
  • Prepar e the calculation of Use Taxrequirementsto ensure accurate and timely tax filings for assigned properties ; and
  • Any and all other work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position.

What you will need to be considered for this role:

3+ years of related experience

Multi-property sales and use tax processing

Multi-state experience

General experience with various tax and ERP applications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience

Intermediate experience in Excel and Microsoft O ffice suite
