Primary Purpose:
The primary purpose of the Sales Ambassador position is a current front desk associate who is also familiar with day-to-day sales tasks. This person should possess the capability to positively impact the hotel's sales productivity efforts to capture group and negotiated business transient (BT) business, while executing their responsibilities as a front desk associate.

Work Performed:

The Sales Ambassador will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments:

Front Desk:
  • To provide 8 to 24 hours of front desk shift coverage per week, between the hours of 7:00 am - 11:00pm with an emphasis on those shifts that provide the most opportunity to network with guests.
  • To obtain sales leads through guest interaction during the check-in/out process and throughout their stay.

  • Respond to leads that come directly to the property, or re-direct the lead to the hotel's Lead Analyst for sourcing to the Enterprise Sales Office (ESO) team.
  • Responsible to engage and interact with hotel guests while at the front desk or in the hotel public space to qualify potential for home hotel.
  • Responsible for qualifying and sharing key BT contact information with the assigned Enterprise Business Transient Sales Manager (EBTSM) for follow up and further qualification.
  • To conduct periodic local market hotel competitive set parking lot tours to make note of all potential opportunities to shift share.
  • Send all local Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) request for proposals (RFPs) received by the hotel to the Lead Analyst for distribution to the ESO Team.
  • Schedule and coordinate all property client site visits.
  • Maintain the group files within the sales system for all group bookings at the property level.
  • Coordinate all meeting room set ups in preparation for upcoming events.
  • Be knowledgeable of, and compliant with, all brand and company sales and e-commerce requirements, standards, and trainings.
  • Maintain the hotel's proprietary sales and revenue information.

Social Media
  • Manage the property's online reputation management (ORM) response plan at the property level.
  • Work with the company's Corporate Director of e-Commerce on social media postings designed to promote the hotel and special offerings.
  • Any and all other work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position.


Required Experience:

Customer service experience

Preferred Experience:

Hospitality industry experience

Required Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent experience

Preferred Education:

Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or Hospitality Management

Preferred Licenses/ Certification:

Valid state driver's license and adhere to all company guidelines regarding moving violations.

Required Technology:

Use computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to enter data, or process information

Preferred Technology:

Proficient in sales & brand inventory systems


Able to lift a minimum of 50lbs occasionally

Able to stand and/or walk for duration of schedule shift


Able to read, write and communicate effectively in English

Must be flexible to working days, early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
