Entry Level Mechanic

Starting Rate: $18.86-$19.80

Reports To: Director, Golf

Equipment: Uniform

The Mechanic is to repair and maintain all golf maintenance equipment.

Work Performed:

The Mechanic will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments:

  • Inspect, diagnose, adjust and repair mechanical defects/failures in various pieces of golf course maintenance equipment on a regular basis;
  • Communicate needs and/ or problems relating to maintenance or repair of equipmen t to Director, Golf ;
  • Set up and modify new equipment as needed ;
  • K eep maintenance equipment fueled, oiled and inspected;
  • Repair and adjust engines and cutting mechanisms on various heavy and light mowing equipment;
  • Keep up with preventative maintenance schedule, i.e. oil, grease, air, gas, etc ;
  • Operate Golf Course maintenance equipment to include: rotary mowers, sting trimmers and backpack blowers; self-propelled walking green and tee mowers; riding triplex mower on collars, approaches, fairways and intermediate rough, riding lawn mowers, green rollers;
  • Rake bunkers; and
  • Prepares lawn for seed ing and sod ding as needed ; and
  • Any and all other work as required to co mplete the primary purpose of the position.


Required Prior Experience:

Experience with hand tools, mowers, and other small engine equipment

Preferred Prior Experience:

6 months related experience or training

Preferred Education:

High school diploma or equivalent


A ble to lift a minimum of 50lbs often

Able to bend and squat repeatedly

Able to walk and stand for duration of scheduled shift
