Primary Purpose:
The primary purpose of the Area Director, Function Space Revenue Management is to improve Group and Banquet/Catering Revenues by enhancing inventory management of the hotels' function space. This individual will analyze historical group and event demand trends, assess the hotel's space utilization, and compile short- and long-term projections.
Work Performed:
The Area Director, Function Space Revenue Management will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments for a portfolio of hotels:

Qualifications:
Required Prior Experience:
3+ years of experience in a revenue management or sales
Prior related hospitality experience
Preferred Prior Experience:
Revenue management and sales knowledge in group and banquet/catering areas
Required Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent experience
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or Hospitality Management
Required Technology:
2+ years of experience in Revenue Management Systems, Property Management Systems, Sales Systems and/or related data management systems
Intermediate skill in Microsoft Office particularly in Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Preferred Technology:
Knowledge in multiple brand sales platforms
Travel:
Up to 5%
Physical:
8+ hours sitting at a desk and computer

Primary Purpose:
The primary purpose of the Area Director, Function Space Revenue Management is to improve Group and Banquet/Catering Revenues by enhancing inventory management of the hotels' function space. This individual will analyze historical group and event demand trends, assess the hotel's space utilization, and compile short- and long-term projections.
Work Performed:
The Area Director, Function Space Revenue Management will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments for a portfolio of hotels:
- Maintain a daily focus on properly placing business into the meeting space and maximize revenue received from the hotel's function space;
- Work closely with the Operations, Revenue Management, Sales and Events, and Business Intelligence teams to ensure that all four departments are strategically managing the hotel's function space to ensure the maximization of Group and Banquet/Catering Revenue;
- Review function space occupancy, Group Occupancy and Revenue, Banquet/Catering Revenue, Lost and Turndown business due to lack of function space, and the Food & Beverage STR (based on availability) weekly, and make recommendations for future weeks and months to improve performance as part of the hotel's Sales and Revenue strategy meetings;
- Complete function space audits to identify and resolve conflicts, track tight turns, maximize revenue, and identify opportunities to reduce labor as well as energy expenses;
- Partner with the hotel's Sales Leadership team to manage the space release process to include reducing or moving space for a definite group if the net profit for a new opportunity exceeds the profit for the existing group, including any relocation costs, updating programs, revised space/room block needs and maximizing Meeting Room Rental opportunities for addition of function space;
- Analyze hotel's annual repeat groups' function space according to most recent contract, program, or agenda and provide guidance for rebooking annual repeat groups;
- Partner with the Revenue team to complete banquets monthly forecast and budget, develop and communicate pricing and space availability, critical dates, and industry trends.
- Conduct a quarterly historical analysis of meeting space performance (food, beverage, rental) and rooms/space ratios to improve business decision process;
- Assess and track space opportunities including revenue achieved and unrealized revenue potential; and
And any and all other work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position.
